How to Plan Custom Furniture for a New Home

Plan the furniture before the electrical work, not after. Where the TV unit, bed, wardrobe, kitchen appliances and mandir sit decides where power, data and light points must go. Deciding afterwards means chasing walls that have just been finished.

Start with a measured plan of every room, including window heights, beam positions, door swings and the existing electrical points. Mark the fixed things you cannot move.

Then work room by room in priority order: kitchen and wardrobes first, since they take the longest and affect the services most; then beds and the TV wall; then dining and loose furniture; then the mandir wall, which needs its own light point.

Choose materials once, across the whole house. A single laminate and hardware family used everywhere costs less than choosing per room and makes the home read as one piece of work.

Approve drawings and physical samples before manufacture. A change on a drawing is free; a change after cutting is not.

Finally, sequence delivery against your civil work. Furniture delivered before the flooring and painting are finished will be damaged.
